FAQ
How does a GSM gateway work?
This technically proven solution changes the telephone call from a "land to mobile" to a "mobile to mobile" call, using x-network inclusive minutes. Sufficient SIM cards are installed to enable simultaneous outbound calls.
Are there any hidden costs?
No. All installation and maintenance costs are incorporated within the monthly service fee. The total cost is clearly demonstrated on a cost analysis from L2MC.
Will the voice quality be as good as before?
Yes it will. Any installation is subject to a mobile signal strength and compatibility study. The CMA states that the technology behind GSM gateways has evolved considerably, to the point where calls routed over a GSM gateway are almost indistinguishable from those made over the PSTN.
What happens to the other calls and will this invalidate my contract with my current voice provider?
This will not invalidate your contract. As there is normally no minimum call-spend with voice providers and you are simply reducing the amount of calls via their service, no contract is breached. All non-mobile calls can route via the existing carrier programmed into your routing table, thus maximising overall savings.
What about my local and national calls?
L2MC can carry these calls at highly attractive rates, as low as 1p per minute for UK local and national calls, using tier-one carriers and CPS (carrier pre-select), via V Networks (http://www.vnetworks.com/calls_lines.aspx).
L2MC would route the F2M (fixed to mobile) calls over a GSM gateway, which usually accounts for over half of the total spend. Even though landline to mobile accounts for half the call costs on most invoices, these calls are the least profitable to the carriers, because they have to pay most of this amount back to the four main mobile companies in egress charges. As L2MC eliminate egress charges by routing landline to mobile calls using a GSM gateway, we are able to give much better rates on the other landline calls.
Is there any cost benefit in combining services?
By incorporating your company mobiles on to the same Sharetime mobile tariff, a company can make unlimited free calls to the company mobiles and the overall rate paid for calls will be reduced.
Can we converge our mobile phones with the office landline phones?
PDFMobility Extension (ME) offers convergence of land phones and mobile handsets by twinning the two. You now only need to give your office number and the call will reach you wherever you are. This gives you the same functionality on your mobile phone as you are used to from the handset on your desk, including holding and transferring calls. International calls from the mobile can now route from your office using the PSTN lines at a fraction of the cost. Please download our PDF and feel free to contact us for further information.
Can we save money on our mobile phones?
Your organisation is likely to be on the wrong mobile phone tariff. This is because the tariffs are not only constantly changing, but there are different short term promotions available, which change from month to month on each network.
L2MC constantly review the marketplace to ensure that we can supply the correct network and plan for your organisation, either with or without a GSM gateway, with demonstrable savings in the region of 40%-60%. L2MC are truly independent. We offer packages from all four main networks (Vodafone, O2, Orange and T-Mobile), via a multitude of dealers. Some dealers offer better arrangements on individual tariffs, whilst others do special promotions. Please see our best mobile phone plans for business section.
What if I want a specific handset that is only available with one network?
L2MC can supply SIM only deals on all four networks. If you want a T-Mobile handset with a Vodafone contract or an Orange handset on an O2 contact, we can usually accommodate.
What if I don't want a handset?
L2MC can pay £100-£200 in cash-back. This is the cost for most current handsets, so it makes no difference whether L2MC pay the money to the mobile phone supplier or directly to our client.
Can I get a free Blackberry?
L2MC can supply a full choice of free handsets, including Blackberry, or a cash-back alternative.
